Costume Design
When Aly is not on stage, she’s designing costumes for those who are. She finds joy in highlighting the individuality of the actor through the world of the play. She learned how to sew when she was a little girl, watching her mom and grandma. Her love for fashion came from her work as a stylist in fashion retail and her love for thrifting. She’s obsessed with tiny details and color palettes.
She recently designed the costumes for an all South Asian production of Spring Awakening, directed by Shania Pahuja. Currently running at A.R.T./NYC from August 14th - September 6th.
She is currently designing the costumes for a production of Greenhouse, a devised piece by The Elif Collective. It is going up at Off the Lane’s Meaux Space September 17-19.
